Did you know that your favorite drink may contain the same number of calories as an average size chocolate bar? If you decide one evening to sip on your favorite appletini, be prepared that it may cost you up to 300 calories! Yep, 300 calories in 6 ounces of apple goodness. Let’s face it. Is it possible that you won’t lose weight after having a LAP-BAND surgery? If you cheat, of course! Don’t get me wrong, everyone cheats a little, eats unhealthy or too much. Weight loss surgery is not an easy decision, but changing your lifestyle after the surgery is not an easy task either. At DayOne Health we understand that very well. And it’s not only our experience with patients, but also the fact that a few members of our team have had the LAP-BAND themselves.

As I mentioned in my earlier posts, the most important part of the lap-band journey are your follow up visits. Simply speaking, no adjustments mean no weight loss. For the best results, you should get the first adjustment four to six weeks after your surgery, and then at least every two months during the first year. Remember, your success after the procedure depends fully on setting your band right and eating balanced diet.
